As you probably know
“Hopital Hayek” is located in the region of Horch Tabet. The area
is renowned for its calm and peaceful atmosphere. There is almost a
hush when you roam through the inner streets leading to the hospital.
Due to the fact that Georges Hayek became a doctor like his father made
him the only child working alongside his father on the hospital
grounds. After the death of Dr. Salim Hayek, Dr. Georges Hayek took over
the direction of the hospital. In 1992, Amine Hajjar, Dr. Georges’
nephew, graduated from Universite St. Joseph with an MBA degree in
business Administration and joined the administrative team. As for me,
Georges G. Hayek, got my Bachelor’s degree in Business Management as
well as my MBA from the Lebanese American University (LAU). I am
responsible of the Human Resource Department and am working
on improving the internal quality of the hospital.
The last decade was quite important in the history of Hopital Hayek
because that it was the time when most of the restructuring and redesigning
took place. Some important dates that marked this period: In 1992,
scanning & ophthalmology centers were completed and enabled with laser equipment,
echo-scan machinery and Angiography were introduced. The following year
the center was upgraded with new medical equipment, in order to better
serve the patients serve. In 1995, the Urology center was launched. Finally,
the new millennium coincided with the opening of the two new centers
with material dispatched from France. Both centers, “Center de Catherisme” and “Centre de Dialyse Renale”, are set to take Hopital
Hayek on the wings of this new age.
There are over 15
departments inside the hospital: Catering, Operating Room, Intensive
Care Units, Surgical Department, Gynecology, X-Ray Department,
Laboratories, Cardiology Department, Laundry, Urology, Emergency,
Ophthalmology Department and Pharmacy. The company is engaged in a
“micro-management program”, which on the long term is beneficial and
plays a
vital for the redeployment of resources. In this respect, all the major
departments of the hospital have opened in a very short period of time. The chronology is indeed impressive.
Furthermore, the administration closely cooperates with Internal
Security forces regarding issues of:
- Public Safety: Precautions against seasonal diseases and awareness
against certain sexually transmitted diseases
- National Security: Precautions against epidermis and deadly
viruses.
We can also add that the management of the hospital has been associated
with the “Centre Hospitalier de Millau” since 1998. This extraordinary
partnership allows the hospital to exchange information with the French
medical center and be on the edge of medical breakthrough and
discoveries. Thus, Hospital Hayek gets in touch with the latest medical
developments and uses up-to-date medications and drugs. This center is
one of the key strengths of the hospital due to the fact that it
provides the employees with the best tools to use in their daily work.
Finally, employees
are taught to smile to patients and colleagues, because all a sick
patient needs is a nice smile and a few gentle words to ease the pain.
Our employees are well trained to complete their tasks, duties and
responsibilities in the best possible manner to be able to ensure our
patient's total satisfaction. This has helped us along the years to keep
a good reputation and maintain our good image in Lebanon.

Mr. Georges G. Hayek,
Human Resource
Manager
